As we age we often find that our bodies don’t work quite as well as they have in the past. One of the most common issues I hear from my friends and experience myself with is forgetting things or problems with memory.

Many people experience memory loss, or a clouded memory. They are able to pin point those major events of their lives but when it comes to the finer details they just seem a bit hazy and distant.

I was quite shocked to find out that this issue is not just confined to older people. Memory loss can happen any time and even children forget things. Some of that will be down to being so busy and having so much stuff on our minds. It’s as if stuff seems to melt from our minds somehow.

Many people have a bad memory when it comes to dates and that sort of thing they forget birthdays or lose things such as car keys, calculators even important documents.

When it only happens the odd time or two we tend to forget about it and just move on putting it down to being too busy at the time or something like that. However if it keeps happening it could indicate a problem needing deeper investigation.

Memory loss is a worrying thing, some people think it makes them look stupid and won’t even comfortably talk with their doctor about it even less so their family or a friend. They feel they are getting old and forgetful and would rather ignore the problem and just accept it as being part of old age.

There are number of solutions to the problem of memory loss. Depending on the seriousness of the problem, the remedies can range from exercises to enhance your memory, to natural health supplements that help clear the mind or in some cases there could even be a need for prescription drugs from your doctor.

One way of helping your memory is to write things down to help bring them back to the front of your mind. We often find this is all that is required to jog our memory back on track.

It also works in another way, often when we write things down we can visualize the note later. Our mind will pull it back up and before we even look to the notebook or day planner, we have recalled the name, date or event

It is quite common for people to experience short term memory lapses with names and things. I find myself, if I imagine the person in front of me while recalling their name that helps me. Give it a try it works.

Memory loss is a situation that can happen to anyone at any time. But using a few simple exercises you can build you memory back to what it once was. It’s a variation on the sort of memory games you might have played as a child.

The adult version of these games is just a bit more advanced but works on much the same principle.Keeping your mind at it’s peak is important, give it a helping hand of risk losing it in the future.
